The Bay Area Mental Health Providers Net was founded in 1986 after several crises had affected the emotional well
being of the Bay Area/Clear Lake Area. We then began talking informally about how mental health providers might
cooperatively respond to crises and might further promote mental health in the Houston-Galveston Bay area.
Our current focus is on providing support and professional development for local mental health providers: providing monthly presentations designed to meet recertification requirements; providing practice development groups; and providing mentoring and scholarships to help students. Committees who then report to an executive board run the NET. Current standing committees on which members may serve are: Practice Issues; Crisis Response; Membership; Community Relations; Continuing Education and Newsletter.
We are located in the Texas Bay Area, between Houston and Galveston, Texas. Come join us!
NET meetings are held monthly on the second Tuesday of each month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the United Way Service Center at
1300-A Bay Area Blvd., Houston, Texas 77058. A light lunch is provided.
Membership dues are $35 per year ($20 student memberships). First time guests brought by a member are free; all other visitors pay $10 per visit.
